Looking for Mr. Sandman

The secret to my time management skills?........NOTHING! NADA! ZIP! There is no such concept in this house. Okay, to be fair, Patrick has time management skills but his are as exteme in the excess as mine are extreme in the absence! Never in my life did I ever see the need to leave an hour travel time for a job that is 20 mins from my home!!! Not that I would use that extra time at home wisely, it's just I can't see the point in giving my employer all that free use of my early self! But really I am digressing from the original commentary planned for this space..... you see I have a closet case of insomnia. There now I've said it! I am a born and bred night owl! GENERATIONS on my side of the family find that 10p-3a time slot to be our best time of the day. Lucky for me I married a night owl...or used to be anyhow. Then in a really perverse kick of karma I was blessed with TWO morning doves!?!?! Patrick was able to dredge back up his inner farm boy and, just like there was no turning the cows away to sleep in, he is up to greet the girls and start the day with them. I have been trying so very hard to 'convert' since the time Mari started pre-school. I almost think I've got it mastered and then a relapse.....which takes weeks to undo!! So here I sit at 3am with no hint of sleep showing signs of imminent arrival cursing those Sullivan genes....because in only 4 short hours I need to be up with the morning doves! Not because Patrick can't or won't be able to handle their morning routine BUT because my JOB expects me to work during school hours!!!! I'll have to go through the ridiculously recurrent cycle of laying down in the hopes that some miracle will occur and that sometime soon I will sleep....because the usual scenario puts me in my first good R.E.M. when the alarm goes off!!! So, while I wait for the tardy Mr. Sandman to arrive I sew!... 5/6 Christmas jumper now on eBay..... 2T/3T John Deere jumper now on eBay...but nothing is really selling well right now on eBay...unless it's a ZHU-ZHU hamptersy thing so I'm probably going to put the other two jumpers and the two-piece set that I just photographed this afternoon aside. Next year will hopefully be a better year economically and the sales will be a bit brisker. Remember how I mentioned this odd cosmic phenomenon of Peggy and I showing up at events dressed alike? Well now it's Julia and Peggy in their light blue fleece v-necks and blue pants...Peggy even has a white t-shirt on under her fleece too...just can't see it in this pose! And with that I'm off to see if I can dig up Mr. Sandman before the alarm goes off at 7:15am.....

  2. I cant even imagine. I have the opposite problem. I want to sleep 10 hours a night! Are you tired during the day or is your body used to just a few hours a night? I have also heard that tylenol pm works wonders!

  3. well at least we know how you get so much done, I guess if you didn't sleep you have that many more hours in a day. Tylenol Pm works Ok but I have always had some insomnia problems and have tried everything, plus my legs won't relax, I found that legatrin pm works well, you don't feel tired even if you take it an hour before bed but when you lay down you relax and sleep and if you wake up normally can get back to sleep. You used to be able to buy it at Walmart but now i can't find it but i just ordered some online at legatrinpm.com for $9.95 a bottle plus shipping.
