Goin' to the chapel...
Picking up steam here folks! Have a unexpected 'day off'...which just means I did not have to leave the home to get to work. The work is here staring me down in an attempt to get my attention but I'd rather sit on the computer.
Getting back to the saga we are now glammed and ready to head off to the church. Since the bride belongs to another church we had the customary 'respect' discussion in the car ride and I'm so proud of my two! They are getting so mature that they handled most of the discussion and even gave me suggestions on what to do in the event of a 'new' situation. It's been a long time since we had a wedding in this family and it's funny the little details you forget along life's path!
Like how the grandparents of the groom are expected to 'walk' down the aisle with the usher to the accompaniment of appropriate music. We've given up on getting Grandma back walking. It's just too hard on everyone. Grandson/Usher Sean handled the sudden appearance of Grandma on wheels like a professional transporter.
The groom was there on time and waiting patiently at the altar with his best man. See why he's called Big Mike?!?!
Andrew was up there on the altar too!!! Big Mike had always promised that the Drewster would be in his wedding someday and here it was.
Ethan and Soleil managed to get over their 'shyness' and were letter perfect in their duties...even down to the SINGLE petal at a time!
The minister did HER thing and Big Mike and Jessica did theirs...without one hitch...well except for the loud "I WILL" Big Mike boomed out when the minister was just opening the ceremony! Guess he was REALLY ready to be married!
Four of my five brothers were here for the big day! Looking more like a meeting of the Sopranos than a rugby team don't you think?? Notice the guy in the purple tie?
This is the elusive (and very eligible may I add) Uncle Peter who provides our Thursday Family Dinner dessert every week!
Julia and Deirdre feeling soooo grown up in their finery at the wedding of their 1st first cousin to get married! Yep, that's my girl in the sparkling Fedora! Those of you with sisters---ever notice how often you show up at events dressed VERY SIMILARLY??? Well the dress Deirdre is wearing was marked as being Julia's size at our local Kohl's store and I had really wanted it for her to wear. Alas the sizing was waaaaay off and I put it back on the rack...only to have my sister come along a day later and buy it for Deirdre!!! We had NOT talked and didn't realize it until I saw it on Deirdre.
We moved outside for the send off and YES they needed the coats...and then some! This is my sister Jennifer with her children, Andrew and Alyssa.
North Carolina cousin Will and his little Brianna were in weather shock! While Brianna had her 'fur coat', cousin Will only had his suit coat to keep him warm. Brianna was into the send off!
What six year old doesn't love bubbles??
Car decorated and ready to carry the young couple off to the reception...which I'll be getting to sooner rather than later!
And Mari's dress is.........
under that nice warm winter coat! Psyche!!!!! Love playing with ya'll! Really it's not all that. It's just the way it makes her look sooooo grown up all of a sudden that makes me even comment on it. I promise, it will appear in the NEXT post. For sure!
