What a difference a day makes!

Actually it's the night I have to credit with today's chart busting accomplishments. That would be Saturday night because Friday night and SaturDAY were nothing to write home about. Friday night was particularly short due to the deadline of the Homecoming dresses which, had I known were going to be picked up TWO hours late would have meant i could have had a little more sleep before facing this.... yet another cold, rainy soccer Saturday. Since I couldn't do a self-portrait and give you the whole picture I took one of a neighboring soccer Mom. Picture this only I have a blue waterproof blanket! It was freeeeezing and wet! See that blur through the rain drops? The one wearing the red head wrap? That's Julia who has a new found love for DRY SOCKS! We all went home shivering and soggy but after good hot showers a miracle happened. The phone rang TWICE! So, you ask, what does that do with a miracle? Well, call number one was a sleepover invitation for Julia from BFF/Cousin Deirdre and call number two was a sleepover invitation for Mari from cousin Alyssa!!!!! WAAAAAY! It took me about a minute a piece to pack their bags and within a minute of their departure I was in the hot tub! When I guiltily realized I was risking my children's future by dozing in hot water, I rolled out and right into PJ's. More sleep than I have had in over a week came my way in ONE NIGHT! Okay, since I was extremely sleep deprived that might not be saying alot ....but I slept from 9pm until 4am straight. Decided that 4 was too early to get up and rolled over and went back to sleep until 9AM. Luxury, pure luxury to not have any morning squabbles over control of the TV remote to resolve or breakfast orders to be taken...well I did feed Patrick but he's like Mickey, he'll eat anything. The sleepovers extended into late afternoon play dates and I kicked butt in the laundry room and the sewing room!! I was even motivated enough to cook them a dinner of their choosing, free the pictures trapped in my camera, and snuggle on the couch under blankets while we watched our favorite show The Amazing Race. I'm slightly worried that this euphoria may lead me back into a nasty cycle of staying up way too late on work/school night but for now I'm enjoying the endorphins! As promised, the picture of Julia frosting a cake the modern way! One of the commercial brands has put their canned frosting mix into a spray dispenser like whipped cream! I had bought it to have 'just in case' of a room Mom emergency in which I would have to produce cupcakes on demand but Julia decided that if she waited for me to make my 'real' frosting (aka buttercreme) the cake would possibly go stale (: Her sweet tooth is insatiable! Also as promised, the Mickey and Minnie Homecoming dresses for a Disney themed dance. Then just for fun I whipped up a couple of more fun items today! The Osh Kosh tag says this is a 4t jumper but I'm going to put a measuring tape to it shortly to verify the size since it seems smaller....or has it just been too long since mine wore this size? There are more appliques of sunflowers and pumpkins on the back. Hope to have it on eBay soon since the season is closing in on me fast! That is unless one of my blog readers wants to take it off my hands for $20? Starting what will only be a couple of Thanksgiving items since I have some custom orders that I'm working on too. It's just this adult onset ADD doesn't let me stay focused on one thing for too long so I throw in an occasional piece like this to keep me balanced. This one is a 3T and in case anyone is interested it is $25. I'll be putting it on eBay on Wednesday if it's still unclaimed. Lastly, a gaggle of cousins will soon be sporting their custom ordered character jumpers! Finished them off today as well! As can be surmised by my previous posts, I am not the most orderly person so if the kind Auntie would be so nice as to save me from sorting through the mountain of paperwork on my desk by shooting of an email with her address I would be ever so grateful. Well, this may mark the one post you'll get this week since the odds of getting anymore childless days in the near future are NIL! We have my Dad home for the upcoming wedding...well actually Auntie Peggy has my Dad and the North Carolina crowd arrive on Thursday so who knows? I might be too busy to blog or then again I might have so much to post that you hear from me more than you'd like!

  1. I'll take the 4T jumper if no one claims it first. Can you send me a pay pal invoice? I really need to get better on the computer!

  2. you are awesome. I can't believe how much you accomplish in a couple days. the mickie and minnie prom dresses are cool. and I LOVE LOVE the four jumper/tops you made for my daughter and her three cousins. I will send you my address to your private email address, as you asked. you've got real dedication to go to those soccer games in that weather -- of course, I imagine that's what I'll be doing in a couple years too -- comes with the mom territory I suppose. love expands to include yucky weather too! and 9 - 9 asleep -- oh I'm jealous.
